Prosecutor wounded in gun attack appointed judge in Calapan

MANILA, Philippines—A female prosecutor who survived a gun attack last June 10 has been appointed regional trial court (RTC) judge.

Josephine C. Caranzo was appointed RTC judge of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro province.

Caranzo was wounded when still unidentified gunmen shot her in fhe morning of June 10 at the village of Bayanan in Calapan.

She suffered five gunshot wounds and Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said she is now out of danger. (Editor: Tony Bergonia)
