Pacquiao gives up sports committee for Bong Go
MANILA, Philippines — World-boxing champ-turned Senator Manny Pacquiao has offered his chairmanship of the Senate committee on sports to Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go.
“I give it to Sen. Bong Go,” Pacquiao said of the committee on sports in a text message on Thursday.
“I offered it to him,” he said.
Pacquiao though said he would still keep his chairmanships of two committees—ethics, and public works.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, in a Viber message to reporters, said Go would also get the chairmanships of committees on health, and the urban planning, housing and resettlement.
