MANILA, Philippines — Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go is sure to get leadership roles in two Senate committees in the 18th Congress, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Thursday.

Sotto said Go will get leadership roles in the committee on health and the committee on urban planning, housing, and resettlement.

At present, outgoing Senator JV Ejercito chairs the two said committees.

Sotto added that Go’s partymates, senator-elects Ronald dela Rosa and Francis Tolentino will get the committees on public order and dangerous drugs and local government, respectively.

“Public Order, Bato; Health and Urban Planning, Bong (Go); Local government, Tolentino,” Sotto told reporters in a text message when asked what are the committees the three senator-elects are sure to get in the 18th Congress.

Sotto said this a day after several senators — incumbents, new, and returning — attended a dinner to discuss committee chairmanships, among others.

Go has expressed interest to hold leadership roles in four Senate committees, namely the committees on health, education, sports, or urban planning, and housing and resettlements.
