Ex-inmate gunned down in Tacloban City

ORMOC CITY — A former inmate was shot dead by a still unidentified assailant in Barangay 95-A, Caibaan town in Tacloban City on Monday afternoon.
Jason Cada, 37, suffered bullet wounds in different parts of his body, said Police Major Rico Jesus Esoy.
Esoy said Cada had just alighted from their vehicle in front of his house when the assailant got off from a white van and shot Cada several times.
Recovered from the crime scene were several slugs and empty shells of .9-mm caliber gun.
Esoy said the victim was arrested for violation of the anti-illegal drugs law last year and was released in prison last December after a plea bargaining agreement.
The investigation continued so as to identify the assailant and the motive behind the killing. (Editor: Leti Boniol)
