Abby Binay widens lead over brother Junjun

MANILA, Philippines — Incumbent Makati City mayor Abby Binay is poised to be reelected in the city’s top post as she further widened her commanding lead over her brother Junjun Monday night.

As of 10:00 p.m., Abby has a 79,086 lead over the closest mayoral candidate in the race, her brother Junjun, who has 96,299 votes.

Abby, meanwhile, has garnered 175,385 votes.

Other mayoral candidates remained behind the siblings — Ricky Yabut (22,987 votes), Rene Bondal (3,475 votes); Wilfredo Talag (1,485 votes), and Love Alanzalon (1,066 votes).

The results presented by the Makati City Board of Canvassers was taken from 491 of the 503 cluster precincts in the city.
