MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Marihatag, Surigao del Sur, on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In a bulletin, Phivolcs located the tectonic quake’s epicenter at 64 kilometers southeast off Marihatag.
The temblor struck at 7:05 a.m. at a depth of 19 kilometers.
No aftershocks and damages were expected.
On Thursday, May 9, another underwater quake struck 80 kms east of the town. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
