Senator doubts ‘Bikoy’ tales

MANILA, Philippines – The accusations of Peter Joemel Advincula, who claims to be the alias “Bikoy” who narrated the “Totoong Narcolist” videos, seems to have no basis, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian said Wednesday.

“So far sa mga narinig ko at nakita ko, parang walang basehan ‘yung kanyang mga accusations,” Gatchalian said in the Meet Inquirer forum.

He said that Advincula should first substantiate his claims for the Senate to push through with its hearing.

“We’re going to spend Senate resource as well as media resources as well as the entire nation’s resources on his statements so he has to share with the Senate, through the senate’s vetting process and make sure that he has all the pieces of evidence that will substantiate his accusations,” the senator said.

“At the end of the day, you have to substantiate your accusations,” he added.

Senator Panfilo Lacson earlier announced the cancellation of the scheduled hearing of the Senate committee on public order.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III also earlier revealed that Advincula also linked former President Benigno Aquino III and other former government officials to illegal drug activities in 2016.

In a series of videos, Advincula linked relatives and allies of President Rodrigo Duterte to the illegal drugs trade.
