MANILA, Philippines — A fire in a residential area along Leveriza Street in Malate, Manila is currently on the second alarm, according to the Manila Fire Department’s Intramuros Station.
Officers from the said station told INQUIRER.net the fire started around 8:00 p.m. It was raised to the second alarm at 8:57 p.m.
As of now, arson investigators still have yet to determine the cause of the fire, and whether this was related to the 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Zambales recorded earlier. Manila and Quezon City are the only areas in Metro Manila placed by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) under Intensity V.
