Over 53K travelers flock to seaports late hours on Holy Monday--PCG

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recorded more than 53,000 travelers who flocked to the country’s seaports on the late hours of Holy Monday, records disclosed on Tuesday.

The tally of the PCG showed that a total of 53,740 passengers turn up in seaports across the country from 6 p.m. of Monday to 12 a.m. of Tuesday.

This brought the total of outbound passengers in seaports across the country to 174,063 from 12 a.m. Monday to 12 a.m. Tuesday.

The bulk of passengers were recorded at Western Visayas provinces ports, such as Antique, Aklan, and Iloilo, where passengers totaled to 27,599 for the entire Holy Monday.

This was followed by Central Visayas with 27,052 passengers, and Southern Tagalog with 26,741 passengers.

Below is the breakdown of the passengers in ports from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Tuesday:
