5.1 magnitude aftershock hits Surigao on Sunday

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Surigao del Norte the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Sunday.

In an updated bulletin report, Phivolcs said the quake hit 31 kilometers northeast of General Luna, Surigao del Norte, at 6:21 a.m.

An Intensity II tremor was felt in Surigao City.

Phivolcs said the earthquake incident was an aftershock of the magnitude 5.9 that hit the province last Friday.
