2 dead, 3 hurt in Zamboanga mosque grenade blast
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Two persons were killed and three others were wounded when a grenade was thrown inside a Mahardika mosque in Logoy Diutay, Barangay Talon-talon, here at 12:20 a.m., Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Shellamae Chang, spokesperson of the Zamboanga City Police, said Sattal M. Bato, 47, and Rex Z. Habil, 46, died in the blast.
Three persons identified as Palaon Saji Asgali,44; Alnizkar Sabbaha, 30; and Jikilani J. Abdulgani, 60; sustained injuries and were brought to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Habil was a kagawad in Barangay Matatag of Lamitan City.
The owner of the mosque is a retired police official.
