SC: Work suspended for Manila courts on Jan. 9 due to Traslacion
MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court (SC) announced on Friday that office work at all the courts in the City of Manila will be suspended on January 9 in time for the holding of the annual Black Nazarene procession or Traslacion.
The SC cited difficulty of travel to and from the Manila courts as the reason of the work suspension, given that millions of devotees are expected to flock to the city for the procession.
The suspension was also in view of Executive Order No. 1 series of 2019, issued by Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada which declared suspension of classes and work in Manila government.
The high court authorized the suspension of work at the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Regional Trial Courts and Metropolitan Trial Courts in Manila. /jpv
