DID YOU KNOW: DOH pinpoints areas with high HIV incidence

According to the Department of Health Epidemiology Bureau, from January 1984 to August this year, the regions with the highest number of reported human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases were Metro Manila with 23,212 (40 percent of the total) cases, Calabarzon with 8,613 cases (15 percent) and Central Visayas with 5,265 cases (9 percent). —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
