Amid ‘Ompong,’ 4,556 passengers stranded at various ports — PCG
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday reported a total of 4,556 stranded passengers in the Eastern and Southern Visayas, Southern Luzon, Bicol and Southwestern Mindanao ports during the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong (international name: Mangkhut).
As of 12:00 p.m., 1,370 passengers were stranded at the ports of Pasacao, Tabaco, Pilar and Matnog in the Bicol region; 882 passengers at ports in Eastern Visayas; 1,474 passengers at ports in Western Visayas; 639 passengers in ports of Batangas, Romblon, including ports in Southern and Northern Quezon in Southern Luzon; and 191 passengers in the port of Bongao in Southwestern Mindanao.
