PRC postpones Sept. 15-16 physician licensure exams due to ‘Ompong’
The Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) on Friday declared the suspension of the 2018 Physician Licensure Examination scheduled on September 15-16 due to Typhoon ‘Ompong’ (international name: Mangkhut).
“The Professional Regulation Commission and the Professional Regulatory Board of Medicine inform the public that the Physicians Licensure Examination scheduled on September 15-16, 2018, to be held in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao is postponed due to the impending onslaught of Typhoon Ompong,” PRC said in a statement posted on their official Facebook page.
The agency noted that the typhoon would especially affect Baguio which is under tropical cyclone warning Signal No. 3, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“The postponement is in consideration of the latest forecast of PAGASA-DOST on typhoon Ompong and its expected impact especially to Baguio where Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 was raised, including expected extensive flooding in Manila,” the PRC said.
PRC said it will announce the rescheduled dates of the licensure exams soon. /vvp
