Typhoon outside PAR affecting Luzon, Visayas
The trough of Typhoon “Jebi” (international name) will bring scattered rainshowers over the southern section of Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.
The weather bureau said Jebi was last spotted at 1,515 km east of Basco, Batanes, outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
It had maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness up to 255 kph.
Jebi is moving the northwest direction at a speed of 20 kph.
Due to this, the Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Visayas areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Article continues after this advertisementPagasa also warned the residents of affected areas to take extra caution against possible flash floods and landslides due to severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the county will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. /cbb
