Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde urged the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to stop blaming each other on the alleged P6.8-billion worth of shabu that slipped through the country.

PDEA has been insisting that the imported shabu hidden inside the magnetic lifters slipped past the customs agency, but the BOC stressed that the lifters found in Cavite tested negative for shabu.

“Hindi naman natin alam, baka meron silang (PDEA) information na talagang nakapasok ‘yun. Then hindi na tayo dapat magsisihan siguro,” Albayalde told reporters in an interview Thursday.

(We don’t know, they might have information that it really entered the country. Then maybe, we should stop blaming each other.)

Albayalde said that instead of throwing stones against each other, the two agencies should “collaborate” and chase the suspected shabu that could be out of the market.

He also said that he won’t contest the PDEA if their information is correct.

“We cannot contest that. Kung talagang ‘yun ang information nila, then kailangan hanapin natin ‘yan (If it’s true that it was their information, then we need to find those shabu),” he said. /jpv
