3 dead, 5 hurt in Tagaytay City vehicle collision

LUCENA CITY – Three motorists were killed and five others injured in a vehicular collision on Tuesday, June 17, in Tagaytay City, Cavite province.
In a report released Wednesday, June 18, the Region 4A police said a Nissan Grand Livina XR Luxury, driven by an 18-year-old identified as “Francesco,” was traversing a section of the bypass road in Barangay Zambal at around 12:50 a.m. when it veered into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming Toyota Corolla driven by a 47-year-old identified as “Jemar.”
All eight occupants of the two vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in nearby Alfonso town.
However, Jemar and his passengers—Jenalyn and an unidentified individual—were declared dead on arrival.
Francesco and his passengers—identified as “Dan,” 18; “Gabriel,” 19; “Jinkerstin,” 17; and “Gabrielle,” 18—sustained injuries in various parts of their bodies.

According to the report, the cause of the accident was driving under the influence of liquor./mcm
