According to the latest statistics from the Department of Health, a total of 1,094 rabies cases were reported from Jan. 1, 2014 to March 31 this year. In the National Capital Region, 66 cases were reported during the same period, peaking in 2015 which saw 22 cases. But the region with the highest number of cases was Central Luzon with 162 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 158 cases, and Soccsksargen with 104 cases.
