July 22 to 25: Panagsogod Festival
Residents of Sogod town in Cebu province give thanks to the town patron St. James the Apostle for the yearly blessings.
Panagsogod, which means “the beginning” in Cebuano, also celebrates the town’s history and cultural heritage.
Events include a concert, concelebrated Mass, novena Mass, beauty pageant and street dancing.
July 22 to 27: Kaumahan Festival
Article continues after this advertisementThe agricultural town of Barili in Cebu province celebrates the bountiful harvest of rice, corn, vegetables and root crops through street dancing. Activities include an agro-fair display, “balikbayan” night, best barangay delicacy demo and fiesta civic parade.
