LTFRB tows out-of-line bus in Pasay City
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) towed a bus in Pasay City on Wednesday for operating out-of-line.
LTFRB board member Aileen Lizada confirmed to INQUIRER.net via a text message that Bobis Liner one out-of-line bus was caught in the area.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Jojo Garcia said in a phone interview that when the LTFRB verified Bobis Liner’s documents, it revealed that the bus company was operating out-of-line.
“Yung tiningnan kanina ng LTFRB yung plate number nila sa system, lumabas na dapat sa Cubao lang sila; pero hindi, nasa Pasay sila (When the LTFRB verified the license plate, it showed that they should be operating only in Cubao. The bus was in Pasay City),” Garcia told INQUIRER.net
The MMDA chief said there were actually three buses found operating out-of-line on Wednesday, but only one bus was caught in the act.
“Alam ko tatlo yung nahuli kanina eh. Kaso kasi isa lang doon yung may pasahero kaya isa lang talaga yung kumpirmado na out of line (I know there were three buses apprehended earlier, but only one was carrying passengers, so only one was confirmed to be out-of-line),” Garcia said.
MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim, meanwhile, earlier served a closure order to five bus terminals also in Pasay for violating LTFRB’s “nose in-nose out” policy.

The operation of the LTFRB and MMDA, together with the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group, on Wednesday also led to the apprehension of two trucks owned by PMA Towing, which was allegedly providing illegal towing services. /ee
