Retired priest Ramirez got Napoles donations ‘in utmost good faith’

Former Quiapo Church rector Msgr. Josefino Ramirez on Thursday admitted that he received donations from alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles, but stressed that he received the donations “in utmost good faith and without any knowledge as to the source of the funds.”

Detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the P10-billion pork barrel scam, handed out generous donations to priests and nuns using allocations from the congressional Priority Development Assistance Fund, digital records of her former finance officer showed.

A group of nuns kidnapped by rebels in the Syrian town of Maalula in December were released early Monday thanks to Lebanese-Qatari mediation and handed to the Syrian authorities.

US nuns can opt out of contraception clause–high court
