MANILA, Philippines -- The police are looking for a driver who allegedly tried to rape a 27-year-old woman inside his taxi on Saturday night.

Supt. Rogelio Cabrera, Quezon City Police District Station 10 commander, said he has alerted all police mobile units to look for the driver of a van with license plate PWL 471.

In a report, Cabrera said the victim went to their office to file a compliant against the still unidentified driver whom she accused of molesting her.

The victim told police investigators that she boarded a Cubao-bound AUV taxi on Mindanao Avenue at around 8 p.m. Saturday.

After a few minutes, all the passengers, except for her, alighted from the taxi upon reaching the Metro Rail Transit station in Kamuning.

“The victim, who was in the back seat, said the driver asked her to sit beside him,” Cabrera’s report said.

When she did so, the victim said the driver took out a knife, pointed it at her and started to touch her breasts.

The woman said she told the man that she would go with him to a hotel if they could eat first at a nearby fast food restaurant.

While inside the restaurant, the victim quickly asked the security guard for help but the driver managed to run back to his van and escaped.

Cabrera said they believe that the driver had victimized other women before. He said they have asked the Land Transportation Office to help them locate the owner of the vehicle.
