Muntinlupa City suspends public school on-site classes on May 2-3
MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa City on Tuesday announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in public schools (kindergarten to senior high school) on May 2 and 3.
“Due to extreme heat index based on Pagasa forecast, classes in Kindergarten to Grade 12 in public schools will shift to Blended Learning on May 2 to 3, 2024,” the city government said in an advisory.
Meanwhile, the city’s Alternative Learning System or ALS Program will also shift to blended learning on May 4, 2024.
Private schools, on the other hand, have full discretion over whether to suspend in-person classes.
With the newly announced suspension, Muntinlupa public students will effectively conduct online classes for the whole week.

As of 3:00 p.m., the Muntinlupa City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office has recorded a peak heat index of 41 degrees Celsius.
