GAZA CITY -- Nine Palestinians, including six members of a single family, were killed in a new series of overnight Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses said on Friday.
Among the fatalities were the wife, sister-in-law and four children of Fayez Salha, a local leader of the leftist Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) militant group, who was himself wounded in the strike in Jabaliya refugee camp near Gaza City.
Another three Palestinians were killed by Israeli tank shells around the areas of Deir al-Balah and Nusseirat, the sources said.
The latest deaths bring the total number of Palestinians to have been killed since the start of Israel's offensive on Gaza two weeks ago to 777. Around another 3,200 have been wounded, according to Palestinian medics.
