CALAMBA CITY, Philippines-- Local police nabbed 12 striking jeepney drivers in San Pedro, Laguna, on Monday, for allegedly throwing nails onto the streets being plied by other jeeps and harrassing drivers who refused to join the strike, police said. The harassment happened along the national highway in Barangay (village) Nueva, San Pedro, Laguna, Monday morning, said Senior Supt. Felipe Rojas, Laguna provincial director. Rojas said the arrested drivers admitted receiving orders from Patrajoda, a member organization of Piston (Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide or United Organization of Drivers and Operators Nationwide), in Barangay Don Antonio, to completely paralyze all public utility vehicles. The drivers are now detained at the San Pedro Municipal Police Office for investigation.
