MANILA, Philippines—Senator Manuel Villar reminded the people to ask the kinds of “changes” candidates are promising especially for poor Filipinos.
In his speech during the proclamation rally held in Tondo, Manila this evening, Villar said the election was not about the candidates or who can save the people from poverty.
"Ang halalang ito ay tungkol sa inyo. Ang halalang ito ay tungkol sa mga Pilipinong walang boses sa lipunan [This election is for you. This election is for the Filipino people who have no voice in the society," he said.
"Next time someone will make another promise, ask them what kind of changes are you going to make? Do you understand the poor people’s needs,” he said.
"The true does not only mean a change in the leadership. True change means an improvement in the lives of the poor Filipinos," Villar added.
