LUCENA CITY — Police arrested on Friday three drug suspects in this city and seized more than P508,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm.

Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, Lucena police chief, reported that anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested at 5:13 p.m. one alias “Nhor,” 41, after he sold shabu worth P2,000 to an undercover cop in Barangay Ibabang Dupay.

The suspect yielded five plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 22 grams with an estimated standard price of P149,600.

The confiscated shabu is worth P448,800 in the street market based on the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, the report said.

At around 10:45 p.m., patrolling cops saw a man and a woman pushing a motorcycle along the eco-tourism road in Barangay Isabang.

The police arrested the duo, “Marjun” and “Shirley,” after they failed to produce government documents on the motorcycle.

The cops also noticed that Marjun had a caliber .22 pistol tucked in his waist but also failed to produce government permits. The police also found Shirley in possession of three bullets.

During routine frisking, the cops also found Marjun in possession of six sachets of meth with a street value of P59,364.

The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the seized illegal drugs.

The suspects were detained and are facing complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
