PNP seizes shabu worth P714,000 from 2 alleged drug pushers in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested two alleged drug pushers early Sunday, April 21, and seized P714,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in this capital city of Quezon province.

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, reported that anti-illegal drug operatives nabbed at 12:39 a.m. 31-year-old “Bok,” and 18-year-old “Jan” after they sold shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Barra.

The police found the suspects, both residents of the coastal village and are not included in the drug watch list, were in possession of four sachets of meth weighing 35 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P238,000.

The confiscated shabu is worth P714,000 in the street market based on the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, the report said.

Also confiscated was a motorcycle without a plate number believed to have been used by the suspects in their alleged illegal drug trade.

The police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the drugs.

The suspects were detained and are facing complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
