MANILA, Philippines?The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office on Friday announced it has donated P10 million of Wednesday night?s 6/45 Mega Lotto jackpot for relief and rehabilitation operations for victims of Tropical Storm ?Ondoy.?
In a statement, the PCSO said it has donated P10 million of the P92.8-million jackpot, which was won by an elderly couple from Quezon City.
Vice chair Rosario Uriarte said the Board of Directors, in response to Ondoy?s destruction, passed a resolution on Sept. 30 earmarking 30 percent of the charity fund from the 6/45 Mega Lotto for relief operations.
She added that the Board of Directors also approved an additional P20-million calamity fund for Operation Sagip-Bayan of the Office of the President for Ondoy victims.
