House executive session for PDEA agent

MANILA, Philippines -- The committee at the House of Representatives investigating the controversial drug case against three suspects from prominent families held an executive session to allow an anti-narcotics agent to reveal more about the case.

Major Ferdinand Marcelino of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on bribery attempts to dismiss the case.

Ilocos Norte Representative Roque Ablan Jr., chairman of the oversight committee on dangerous drugs, suspended the hearing to allow the closed-door session where Major Ferdinand Marcelino of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was expected disclose the name of his mistah who offered him a P3 million bribe in exchange for the release Richard Brodett, Jorge Joseph, and Joseph Tecson.

The three were arrested in September 2008 in a buy-bust operation, which Marcelino led in Ayala-Alabang in Muntinlupa City and at the Araneta Center in Quezon City.

Marcelino is also expected to disclose the source of his information that the three suspects would be released because justice officials have allegedly been "fixed."

The public hearing on the drug case will resume Wednesday at 10 a.m.
