MANILA, Philippines? The Quezon City government has reiterated its pledge to contribute to the reward money raised for the capture of the bus driver involved in the car crash, which killed journalist Chit Estella Simbulan.
Aldrin Cuna, chief of staff of Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, said the commitment was made in a meeting with Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino.
Cuna did not, however, specify the amount that the city government would give.
"There's no instruction yet on whether the amount will be sourced from the mayor's fund or his personal fund," Cuna said on Tuesday evening.
The MMDA earlier offered a P100,000-reward for the apprehension of Daniel Espinosa of the Universal Guiding Star Busline.
The Quezon City Police District said more came forward to add to the reward, raising it to P200,000. The police did not say who or which groups helped raise the amount.
