Golez said he is expecting the number of flood victims to rise as reports from village coordinators continue to reach him.
In a text message, he said a number of families remained in their homes although the area is already flooded.
Golez said village officials have been mobilized for disaster response. A number of volunteers are also packing food items for distribution to affected families.
He said he has asked Defense Secretary and National Disaster Coordinating Council chairman Gilbert Teodoro and Navy chief Ferdinand Golez for trucks to distribute relief goods.
Golez said he himself was stranded in the Red Cross-Paranaque branch, which was supposed to have its office blessing.
He said areas in the city that never experienced flooding in the past are now flooded due to the typhoon now battering Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Southern Tagalog.
