Olongapo suspends in-person classes anew due to intense heat
OLONGAPO CITY — The local government suspended in-person classes in this city on Thursday and Friday due to the expected intense heat.
Acting Mayor Aquilino “Jong” Cortez Jr. announced this after a forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) that the heat index in the city would reach 44°C (degrees Celsius) on those days.
The state weather bureau considers a heat index between 42°C and 51°C “dangerous.”
