MANILA, Philippines ? A local online game developer on Tuesday launched a new virtual game for Filipinos which integrated the concept of ?TV on Facebook?.
The Inkstone Inc., a game developer company established in 2010, introduced the new Facebook game ?World Racer?, an amazing race which was designed to combine the trends of user generated content, social networking, and gaming.
?World Racer is the modern ?TV on Facebook? having players instead of actors, Facebook users instead of viewers, and games instead of script,? Inkstone Managing Director Alan Chou said.
Chou said the design of the game was based mainly on the core principles of social broadcasting, citing that their company aims to deliver the vision of social broadcasting.
World Racer, which will be hitting Facebook users starting June, is a tournament game where players can compete with other players nationwide. The game has different levels, containing a number of mini-games each.
Players, who should be in pairs, can interact with others by countering their game results, giving them obstacles in the next levels, and buying them viewer points. They can also see the videos of their competitors games, and add comments on it.
?In the case of World Racers, players generate videos from their game play that they share with other Facebook users,? Technical Director Paul Gadi said.
?The tagline of the tournament is ?Win Prizes, Get Famous?,? Chou said referring to the cash and gift items awaiting the top teams, as well as the social aspect of fans supporting their favorite teams.
The game will be opened in the Philippine market starting June. Interested gamers can register in the tournament through the Inkstone fan page in Facebook.
