MANILA, Philippines -- Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Avelino Razon Jr. is on popular social networking site Friendster.
The hitch is, he did not create the account, making the PNP chief an apparent victim of identity theft.
Razon, who was not amused, has ordered the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to find out who created the account.
"I'd like to inform the public that it's [account] not mine," Razon said.
Razon's supposed account describes him as 84-years-old and an alumnus of the Philippine National Police Academy.
Razon will only turn 56 this year and belongs to the Philippine Military Academy’s Class of 1974.
"We checked out the account and some of the information there about me was wrong," Razon told reporters Thursday.
As of this posting, the fake account had 74 friends and had Razon's assumption speech posted as a blog entry.
The “who I want to meet” section had “Razon” supposedly wanting to meet traitors, corrupts, criminals so he could "crush them."
Razon jokingly told reporters he was glad he had no account on 'dogster,' a similar social networking site featuring dogs.
"I don't need a Friendster account,” Razon said, stressing that people “can always reach me through the Mamang Pulis hotline," 09178475757.
