Jeepney driver shot dead while changing flat tire in Batangas
SAN PEDRO CITY — A jeepney driver was shot dead in Malvar town in Batangas province early morning on Sunday, the police said.
The victim was identified as Benigno Castillo, a resident of Bagong Pook village in Malvar town.

Case investigator Police Officer 3 Roswell Sadicon said Castillo had just left his house about 4:30 a.m. for his first trip of the day when he pulled over because of a faulty tire.

“He was not even very far yet from his house, probably just about 100 meters,” Sadicon said in a phone interview.
He said Castillo was changing the tire when a lone gunman approached him and shot him and killed him instantly.
Sadicon said the victim’s wallet and cellphone went missing. The police could not say how much the wallet contained. /cbb
