Santiago wants Luy to testify on his version of ‘pork’ list

MANILA, Philippines—Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago wants whistleblower Benhur Luy to testify on the “Luy list” in order to settle the conflicting differences between the corresponding alleged lists of Janet Lim Napoles held by Justice Secretary Leila De Lima and former Senator Panfilo Lacson.
In a letter to Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Teofisto Guingona III Monday, Santiago cited the backup documents of Luy saved in a computer hard drive that was submitted to the Philippine Daily Inquirer in April 2013.
“I humbly submit that it is crucial for the sake of truth that Luy should testify on the Luy list, in order to settle the conflicting claims of suspicious people like Janet Napoles, Panfilo Lacson, and Sandra Cam who claimed that each one has his or her own list,” Santiago said in a letter submitted to Guingona Monday.
Santiago also said that Napoles, Lacson, and Cam “might be acting in concert as attack dogs, for one or all three senators indicted for plunder.”
The Napoles list that is presently in the custody of Lacson reportedly contains the names of 21 present and former Senators and two cabinet officials implicated in the pork barrel scam allegedly masterminded by Napoles.
President Benigno Aquino III said that he has seen two different versions of the list.
The Inquirer reported Monday that Luy’s documents included names of almost 200 people which included “lawmakers, department heads, a former Supreme Court justice, popular media personalities, heads of government-owned and -controlled corporations, government employees of various agencies, local government officials, lawyers, military officials, show-biz personalities, employees of the Senate and the House of Representatives, and private individuals.”
