MANILA, Philippines–Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto on Tuesday urged the national government to realign the P300-M family planning fund of the Department of Health (DOH) for the rehabilitation of areas ripped by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan), a report from INQUIRER Radio 990AM said.

Sotto said, instead of using the funds for the purchase of Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), pills and other contraceptives, it would be better if the said amount will be used for the rehabilitation of houses damaged by the supertyphoon.

The senator doubts that the present calamity fund may not be enough to rehabilitate houses after the country suffered a series of calamities.
