CA panel OKs nomination of 2 PH envoys to Middle East

The appointments of two Philippine envoys got the nod of a panel of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) on Tuesday.

The CA’s committee on foreign affairs recommended for plenary approval the confirmation of Philippine Ambassador to the Arab of Egypt Sulpicio Miguel Confiado and Philippine Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Akmad Atiah Sakkam.

Confiado will have concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Djibouti, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the State of Eritrea, and the Republic of Sudan while Sakkam will have concurrent jurisdiction over the States of Palestine.

The panel’s recommendation will be transmitted to the CA plenary, which could either adopt or reject the endorsement.           /kga
