Cops arrest 2 alleged drug pushers in Marikina buy-bust

Members of the Marikina City Police’s Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) have arrested two suspected drug pushers, including a minor, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sto. Niño.

A police report showed that the SDEU seized eight sachets of suspected crystal meth or shabu from the suspects, identified as Calel Sarip, 22, and a 16-year old out-of-school female, who are both from Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.

The SDEU also recovered from the suspects the P1,000-bill, which was used as marked money during the operation, the police report added.

Police said Sarip and the minor will be brought to the Eastern Police District’s Crime Laboratory for drug testing.

Sarip would be charged in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.            /kga
