The University of the Philippines College of Law building is named after its first dean, George Arthur Malcolm, who was born on Nov. 5, 1881, in Michigan, USA. He went to the Philippines after he received his law degree and stayed in the country for 33 years. In 1917, he was appointed associate justice of the Supreme Court. He left the country in 1939 and died in California on May 16, 1961.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
