P’que modern transport hub nears completion—DOTr
The construction of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, which can accommodate about 200,000 passengers a day, is expected to be completed by April this year, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Tuesday.
The DOTr said the intermodal transport facility, which was envisioned to be a modern transportation hub that would interconnect the LRT-1 with city and provincial buses as well as UV Express vehicles and jeepneys, was already 68.47 percent complete.
The terminal would also include passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, ticketing and baggage handling facilities, and park-ride facilities.
“This intermodal transport facility is envisioned to be a modern transportation hub, providing a seamless interconnectivity of the different modes of transportation from the neighboring provinces south of Metro Manila,” the department said in a statement.
“It will facilitate seamless transfers and will offer fixed departure schedules and a centralized ticketing system. This will also interconnect LRT Line 1, city and provincial buses, as well as UV express and PUJ routes,” it said.
