Mangroves now serve their purpose in Lingayen
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Mangroves grown in the last 10 years now fortify almost half of the 285-kilometer coastline here, according to provincial agriculturist Dalisay Moya.
The mangroves, according to Moya, serve as breeding ground for fish and act as natural barrier against storms and storm surge. They also reduce soil erosion, she said. —Gabriel Cardinoza
