5 suspected drug pushers nabbed in Lucena City
LUCENA CITY, Quezon—Five suspected drug pushers targeting college students in local universities were nabbed in buy-bust operations in Lucena City on Friday, police said Saturday.
Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police director, said the suspects – Marilou Uy, 39; Pepito Cadiz, 50; and Edgar Marquez, 33 – were arrested by Quezon police anti-illegal drugs operatives in an operation in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay around 9 p.m. Police seized from them a sachet of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 10.40 grams worth P19,240 in the street market and a service car believed used by the suspects in their drug distributions.
Earlier, the same police team also arrested Elsa Esteves, 38 and partner Anwar Borongo, 39, in another buy-bust operation also in the same village around 1 p.m. The suspects yielded three sachets of shabu weighing 25 grams with an estimated street value of around P46,250.
