Arroyo hopeful De Lima will allow medical treatment abroad

MANILA, Philippines—Former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is hoping that Justice Secretary Leila de Lima will finally grant her request to allow her to seek medical treatment abroad, a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Tuesday.

De Lima is expected to issue an Allow Departure Order within the day , the report said.

Arroyo’s spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn said they saw no reason why the Aquino government wouldn’t allow Arroyo to travel abroad since the Philippine Constitution guaranteed the legality of the travel.

Horn also said that all necessary documents have been submitted to De Lima.
