Pangasinan man kills son, injures another
DAGUPAN CITY — A 43-year-old man hacked his two sleeping sons, killing one of them, in Malasiqui town in Pangasinan province on Monday night (March 6).
Mark Arjay Dacasin, 16, and his 15-year-old brother, Jemel, were sleeping when their father, Rolly Dacasin, hacked them with a bolo at their house in Barangay Bacundao West at 11:30 p.m., said Supt. Roland Sacyat, Malasiqui police chief.
Mark Arjay died on the way to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City, where Jemel is being treated.
The boys’ father was killed by responding policemen. Dacasin had attacked the policemen as they tried to pacify him.
Sacyat said the boys’ father had a history of mental illness but had stopped taking medication which he could no longer afford.
