PNP begins inspection of Crame offices, restrooms

The Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has started inspecting offices inside Camp Crame, the official headquarters of the PNP, in Quezon City, particularly the restrooms.

Chief Supt. Leo Angelo Leuterio, acting deputy inspector general of the IAS, the police unit tasked to investigate erring personnel, said IAS personnel had started going around the camp to check each Crame-based offices.

The top three offices with the cleanest comfort rooms will be announced every Monday during the flag raising ceremony at the camp.

The top five offices with the filthiest washrooms will also be named during the regular weekly staff conference of the PNP.

“In the pursuit of instilling discipline, IAS has decided to look into how PNP offices use and maintain such facility as the restroom. Other facilities will also be inspected,” Leuterio said in a text message to INQUIRER.net.

According to IAS spokesperson Shella Castillo, the inspection team will be composed of at least 25 personnel headed by Senior Supt. Julito Diray, chief of the IAS Inspection and Audit Division.

“The objective is to develop discipline among police officers and the unit itself, promote high standard in facilities and good image of the PNP,” Castillo said.

Also, during the weekly flag ceremonies, IAS personnel in each police office remind policemen of the PNP’s pledge as well as the ethical conduct they should observe./rga
