Rains to persist over PH as typhoon ‘Ferdie’ enters PAR
Rains will prevail in different parts of the country as typhoon “Ferdie” (international name: Meranti) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said “Ferdie” was plotted at 1,280 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, and forecast to move west northwest at 22 kilometers per hour.
The typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.
Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Palawan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.
