Abellana, DBTC march to football semis

ABELLANA National School (ANS) and Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) moved closer to another finals encounter as both advanced to the secondary football semifinals of the 21st Cebu City Olympics at the football field of the University of San Carlos Technological Center.

ANS will go up against Springdale while DBTC will face Maria Montessori International School (MMIS).

DBTC frustrated ANS in last year’s finals and went on to represent Cebu City in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) meet and Central Visayas in the Palarong Pambansa.

ANS advanced to the final four by topping its bracket. It defeated Maria Montessori International School (MMIS), 14-0, and St. Paul, 15-0.

DBTC, on the other hand, routed USC, 16-0, and University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R), 9-1.

Springdale dismissed USC, 5-0, and USJ-R, 5-2. MMIS blanked Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) 11-0.

In the elementary level, the semifinal pairing are Springdale versus DBTC and Bright Academy against City Central School. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
